11 SEP 2026 one day trip to bhojpur, bhimbaithka, lake & museum by Botany and Microbiology Department

The Department of B.Sc. at St. Mary’s College organized a one-day educational field study trip for the First Year, Second Year, and Final Year students. The main objective of the trip was to provide students with practical exposure to biodiversity, ecology, botany, and tribal culture.

During the visit to the Bhimbetka Forest, students conducted field studies and collected plant specimens for herbarium preparation. Students also collected various species of algae from the Betwa River for further study and identification.

The students visited the Manav Sangrahalaya (National Museum of Mankind), Bhopal, where they observed various botanical models, traditional agricultural tools, and equipment used by tribal communities. They also learned about the lifestyle, traditions, and agricultural practices of different tribal groups.

At Bhopal Lake, students observed and studied the aquatic ecosystem, including its ecological features and biodiversity. The field visit provided valuable practical knowledge and helped students connect their classroom learning with real-life observations.

Overall, the one-day field study trip was an informative and enriching experience for the students, enhancing their understanding of botany, biodiversity, ecosystems, and tribal culture.
